Alaga is a Filipino word often translated to care, but the English word doesn’t quite do it justice.
In Filipino culture, alaga means to nurture, protect, and tend to someone with intention and love. It’s practical and emotional. Strong and soft. Constant and deeply personal. Alaga is the kind of care that is patient, intuitive, and protective. It’s showing up consistently. It’s tending to someone with your whole heart. It’s love expressed through action. Alaga Therapy exists because healthcare should feel like this - thoughtful, respectful, and genuinely nurturing - without ever losing clinical excellence.

I’m Antoinette - physiotherapist, pelvic health & paediatric enthusiast & mum of two tiny humans.
I grew up watching my mum care for our family everyday. Caring for out family in ways that were loving, practical, and quietly powerful. Today, I carry that same philosophy into my work. With postgraduate training in pelvic health, ongoing study in paediatrics, and a background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, my approach is grounded in evidence. But it’s my lived experience - pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and parenting - that shapes how that care is delivered.
At Alaga Therapy, you’ll find clinical excellence without the coldness. Professional, yes — but always warm, respectful, and centred on you.
